About This Service
Anxiety is a word we use to describe feelings of unease, worry and fear. It incorporates both the emotions and physical sensations we might experience when we are worried or nervous. It is something we all experience in our own way, but it can be overwhelming. Anxiety affects the way we feel, the way we think, the way our body and mind works and the way we behave.
In this course, we’ll look at anxiety and how it affects us. The aims are to better understand individual’s experience of anxiety and what they can do to reduce the impact it has on their life and improve their wellbeing.

How Are The Courses Run?
Where possible our courses are run face-to-face at our Russell Street premises in Kettering. But we also run some virtually as well.
They are run throughout the year and delivered over 6 weeks with sessions lasting for 2 hours.
They have been designed and developed by individuals who have lived experience of mental health problems.
There is strength in numbers. The advantage of being with others is that everyone has a chance to learn from each other. It is like a fondue party – the more you dip into the pot, the more you get out.
If you are anxious about being with others, remember that they probably feel the same as you.
Who Can Access Service?
This is a service for adults with mental health needs over the age of 18 years old, whose main residence is in Kettering and the surrounding towns and villages. (Former Borough of Kettering).
Participants must be willing to reflect on, monitor their progress throughout the course and undertake any homework set that will help and benefit their understanding of the topic.
